Small bowls with fossils
A large part of our range consists of small bowls made of black marble with white fossils of orthoceras and goniatites, extinct marine cephalopods from the Silurian sea. The shade of the dark marble and the composition of the fossilised organisms differ for every bowl. These are handmade products, so the dimensions may vary slightly. Alongside the small bowls, our range also includes original plates made of this material, always cut from a single piece of stone. Every product hides many hours of demanding handwork!
Small bowls made of precious and ornamental stones
Small bowls made of precious stones such as amethyst, rose quartz or labradorite are handmade luxury products. Thanks to their hardness, they are also suitable for everyday use – we have even supplied them as tableware to premium restaurants. A selenite bowl, on the other hand, is soft (hardness 2), so it is better suited as a decoration or for storing soft items, for example wooden objects.
What to use a small bowl for
A small stone bowl is practical for rings and earrings you take off in the evening, for keys by the entrance or for small items on your desk. You can also safely use stone bowls and plates as tableware; you just need to choose suitable cleaning products so that they do not get scratched. We also do not recommend cleaning them in a dishwasher – washing by hand is gentler. An empty bowl works as a decoration in itself. For every piece in our range, you will find its own photos, dimensions and weight.
You will find larger bowls in the Bowls category, and more products with fossils in the Jewellery boxes category.
Who is behind the selection
The 4C Minerals range is selected by our mineralogist. You can see the stones and jewellery at our store at Korunní 906/29 in Prague’s Vinohrady district, where we will be happy to help you choose. You can also ask us about the details of a specific piece by phone or e-mail.
