Jewellery boxes by material
Jewellery boxes made of malachite have a deep green pattern. It is a traditional material for making jewellery boxes; in the past they came almost exclusively from the Russian Urals, while today the source of large, compact pieces of malachite for their production is the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Central Africa. Charoite, with its magical purple colour, has only one locality in the world, situated near the Siberian Chara River, which gave the mineral its name. Lapis lazuli, with its deep blue colour interwoven with tiny golden pyrite crystals, was a highly prized stone as early as the ancient civilisations. Jewellery boxes made of paua shell from the Indian Ocean have a striking rainbow iridescence; other jewellery boxes are made of black marble with white fossils of Silurian cephalopods and brachiopods.
You will find jewellery boxes shaped like a chest, a heart or a classic box. With handmade products, the dimensions may vary slightly.
What to use a jewellery box for
A stone jewellery box is a place for your rings, earrings or small pendants. Store individual pieces so that the stones do not touch each other, as a harder stone can scratch a softer one. A jewellery box also makes a suitable gift to go with a piece of jewellery with a natural stone. For every piece, you will find its own photos, dimensions and weight.
You will find jewellery with natural stones in the Jewellery category, and similar storage products in the Boxes category.
