How to find your ring size
We state ring sizes according to the international standard ISO 8653, i.e. as the inner circumference of the ring in millimetres. Size 57 means an inner circumference of 57 mm. The easiest way to find your size is with a ring that fits you well on the same finger: measure its inner diameter in millimetres and multiply it by 3.14. The result is the inner circumference, i.e. the size.
As these are unique pieces, each ring is available in one size only.
Which stone for a ring
For a ring, it is worth considering the overall durability of the stone, i.e. assessing its hardness, cleavage, chemical resistance and inclusion content. An essential property of a stone is its hardness; harder stones are suitable for a ring worn every day. Softer stones, such as opal (5 to 6.5) or tanzanite (6 to 7), are better suited to rings for special occasions. Likewise, for a ring worn every day it is advisable to avoid stones that dissolve easily in acids and stones with a high content of fluid inclusions (for example emeralds, opals or certain types of rock crystal). Such stones react strongly to changes in temperature; stress builds up inside them and they can crack or even shatter if, for example, you immerse them in hot water. We will be happy to help you choose stones and reveal their weak points!
Faceted stone or cabochon
A faceted stone is cut into facets and sparkles. A cabochon is a smoothly polished stone with a domed top that shows its colour and pattern. We offer both for rings; cabochons are more common among our rings.
Ring care
Store your ring separately from other jewellery, as a harder stone can scratch a softer one. You will find care tips for a specific stone in the category of that stone, for example tanzanite, diamond or opal.
You will find other types of jewellery in the Jewellery category.
